24 October 1998 Blackout! Leif Harmsen Another historic night at Duckie on Saturday October 24, 1998, when half way through the night the power to the sound system failed, leaving a packed Vauxhall Tavern standing in the darkness. People nattered away the half hour before Amy announced that the power would be down for the remainder of the evening. Jason the manager went upstairs, brought down his stereo, placed it on the stage, and fired up the Duckie first birthday compilation tape. He also lowered the price of Fosters to one pound a pint! Bonus! It was one of the best Duckies ever, redolent with memories of house parties from our collective past.
